We don't have a rant thread, so I'm just going to get this all off of my chest right here in the discussion subforum. Haha.
So I have this exam tomorrow. It's going to be two and a half hours long, closed book and is worth 40% of my mark. I feel like I've studied my ass off but I've only actually reviewed like, two out of nine chapters. And they are LONG. There's just so much information, I feel like I'm being overwhelmed! And it's all medical terminology too. So I have to be able to spell everything accurately. That is not an easy feat.
I just feel all this pressure because if I fail this, I won't be able to move on to the main program that'll allow me to establish a career in this field. And I don't feel like paying all of that money to retake the course just because I failed it! Also, my Professor left us a helpful little note saying, 'The content of the exam isn't based exclusively on what you did in regards to the assignments.'
... What? What does that even mean? If it wasn't on the assignments, I PROBABLY didn't bother studying it.
I'm so screwed. Does anyone have any tips or advice to offer in the way of effective study methods?

One of the most important things I can say is to have faith in yourself. The whole idea sounds cheesy and stupid, I know, haha, but it does help, and I can testify to that m'self. Don't worry too much about 'what if' and 'what will', just study as much as you can, accept the fact that you've done everything possible, and try your best. Stressing out over it is only natural, but when it comes down to it, it doesn't help at all.
And don't overload yourself- it seems like you're pressed for time, but still, make sure to take a break about.. erhm.. every few hours? There's really no way to memorize anything if it's all one-fact-after-the-other rapid-fire studying. Have something to eat. Review what you have studied for a bit before moving on to the next thing.
Oh, and your professor probably means that there are things not covered in the assignments on the exam, yes- but in my opinion, that likely means that they're.. erhm.. relatively general knowledge. I'm sure they don't expect you to go over the entire book and memorize absolutely everything in order to pass.
Anyway, don't worry, I'm sure you'll do great! Good luck tomorrow! <3 c:

Thanks so much for all of your advice! I went in as calm as I could and did my best. It actually went really well, and I'm confident in how it turned out. When I didn't know something I made a guess, and in the other two sections I filled everything out with relative ease.
Thankfully that's over and done with. Now I can focus on enjoying my week's vacation from work and start posting more frequently.
