To this day, no cat really knows what happened to cause Treeclan and Rockclan to hate each other, and the cats that did know have been killed in the countless battles between the two. All the cats know is that they must win the fight, or lose everything.
In a forest where apprentices are banned from border patrols for fear of being killed, but are the main attendee at gatherings so warriors can stay home to protect the camp, who really wins? Rockclan and Treeclan certainly think it's going to be them, but what about the other two clans? Marshclan is in a desperate struggle to keep out of the fights, and Grassclan has turned the other way, pretending as if nothing has happened.
Even these two clans, who wish not to be a part of this bloodshed, are slowly being dragged in. Treeclan continues to push at Marshclan's borders with threats of bloodshed if they do not side against Rockclan. Everything is in total chaos, where being friends with cats of other clans is seen as alliance, and forbidden loves are unheard of.
